Torsten Slama
During his time at the Düsseldorf Academy studying under Professor Fritz Schwegler from 1987 to 1992, Torsten Slama initially painted impasto, small-format pictures. At the same time, he created deserted living spaces that defined the individual as an environment. Series of strongly coloured houses, interiors and street scenes can be discerned. The striking bird's-eye views make everyday objects such as tables, chairs and even cars appear as toy set pieces.
