Torsten Slama
Over the decades from 2003 to 2023, Torsten Slama's work has focused on coloured pencil drawings and paintings of factories in both forested Chinese and uninhabited planetary landscapes. For this, Slama draws on various types of factories, automobiles and settings, which can appear in different combinations. The references to retrofuturism mystify brick and concrete buildings as remnants of civilisation.
In 2007, Slama realised this idea in a spectacular outdoor sculpture in Cologne's Skulpturenpark.
